I'm planning to paint my apartment (4 br, 2 bath, living room, kitchen). How long should I wait to move in?

If you are using a water based paint, e.g. latex, you should be able to move-in within 24 hours......Oil base paints have a stronger residual odor to them, and you might want to open up some windows, and wait about 48 hours or so for the fumes to dissipate........once all paint is dry to the touch, usually within 24 hours, the vapors the paint leave behind are not harmful........just depends on your level of tolerance to paint smells...... :-)I'm planning to paint my apartment (4 br, 2 bath, living room, kitchen). if you use good laytex paint a few hours with fan on should do go in and smell it if strong wait some more not toxic so no problem.I'm planning to paint my apartment (4 br, 2 bath, living room, kitchen). How long should I wait to move in?
If you are painting the apartment yourself, it will probably take you 1 day per room, taking into account that you are applying 2 coats per room. After that you can move furniture in once the walls no longer feel tacky. If you live in a high humidity area it could take a longer for the walls to completely dry.
I would wait 4 days to a week before moving in. This way you give the paint a chance to dry completely. You wouldn't want to move your furniture in and scrape your newly painted rooms. Plus it is MUCH easier to paint your rooms without any furniture in them. When we first got our house we waited a week before bringing any furniture in so that we could paint and decorate and we are glad we did.
you can paint it in two weeks , but if you make hast you can paint it in one week or four days . you should choose a lovely colour , ok man
If your painting it in latex you can move right in
Modern paints are a lot less toxic and strong smelling than they were in the past, you would be OK moving into a room a day or two after painting it.
