I have a 2 story house. Lights & outlets won't work in upstairs bedroom/bath/closet in 1 room? What can cause?

All electricity in my house works fine. When I tried turned on my bedroom light it wouldn't work. The outlets don't work, the lights in the his %26amp; hers closets don't work and the hallway light outside my room doesn't work either?

I flipped off all the switched on the breaker but the lights stilll won't come on. What can the problem be?I have a 2 story house. Lights %26amp; outlets won't work in upstairs bedroom/bath/closet in 1 room? What can cause?
gfi outlet tripped. GFI stands for ground fault interruption and if there is a gfi outlet on that circuit, and it was tripped by something (idk what) then it would need to be reset. That consists of pushing the reset button on the front of the outlet. If not that it could be a bad outlet, a bad switch or a bad connection. Only a pro can safely pinpoint the problem at that point. He would turn off the electricity and inspect all accesible components visually and then with a voltometer.I have a 2 story house. You need to check the breakers again.

First be sure all switches are in the off position and nothing is plugged into the out lets.

Then verify the breaker has been reset.

The turn on the light switches one at a time. The plug something in to each outlet.

Its likely that there is a bad switch or outlet causing the breaker to trip when it is used.
check circuit breakers - then determine what you plugged in that overloaded the circuit, unplug that and then flip the circuit back to the on position
