What age is convenient to allow a child to take a sauna bath? What about temperature of the room?

There are people who mistake a hot tub for a sauna, but from the word ';room';, I assume you do mean a hot room in which you bathe without water.

In some cultures, children are introduced to sauna from birth. But, as with a lot of things, it's best for you to try the specific venue first before introducing it to a child.

Remember that hot air rises, so you will feel less heat at lower benches than higher benches - and your/the child's height will factor.

Some saunas allow guests to increase the temperature by throwing water on the rocks. Others are kept at a constant temperature. The constant temperature is more likely to be suitable.

The important thing is that the child is able to let you know when they're uncomfortable.

You should also check the rules, often posted outside the sauna. Often these ban children. I have seem one venue that bans children on weekdays. It is definitely worth being aware of the rule, because other guests may (incorrectly) chide you for allowing a child into the sauna.

It is therefore difficult to give an age. Generally it's not convenient for children to take a sauna, and a lot depends on the specific venue and the specific child. What age is convenient to allow a child to take a sauna bath? What about temperature of the room?
Do you mean a Sauna Room? Or a hot tub?

I think at 14 a child can sit in the sauna for about 5 minutes, with an adult present. I don't think they need to be in any longer than that though.

For a hot tub, I'd say 12 but of course with a parent. They don't need to be in for very long, because hot tubs are known to shrivel and dry out skin if you're in too long, especially for a child's delicate and sensitive skin. When you go change always shower off after and use a natural moisturizing cream/lotion after using either, especially the hot tub.

The water temp should never exceed 104 degrees Fahrenheit. What age is convenient to allow a child to take a sauna bath? What about temperature of the room?
