I went through the same thing with a beautiful cat I had. He used the litter box for about 2 years and it was like one day he just forgot what it was for. We had to replace all the carpets and my favorite chair. We took him to the vet and he checked out fine. He became an outside cat and soon wandered awayMy two cats are going to the bath room all over the carpet how do i make them stop?
shoot them.
Why you waste your time over two insignificant useless cats?? You have more life than that right? Just get rid of them. They will be no better or worse off in the streets. Your cats dont need you, they only need you as food source really. They dont even recognise you as their owner. Please stop wasting time and money on these useless smelly unloyal things and throw them on the street. Get a dog instead. They have more purpose and they're not stupid.
My parents have a cat that used to do that all the time. And last summer I helped them rip up the carpet, so now she doesn't do it anymore. Nothing help! They cleaned that carpet several times. Final I told my mom that they would have to rip it up because it was probably soaking through the carpet and I was right. It soaked through the carpet in several spots and ruined part of the floor underneath.
Lol. What I'd try is hold a cat in a little box and yell, GO TO THE TOLIET IN HERE YOU, whatever name you like. I'd make sure it's a swear though.
i don't know what kind of house you are stay now, but if you are not stay at condominium or high rise building, i think there would be easy for you to bring them to your house backyard after every meal. this is my own experience. some cats even can go to toilet themselves although we are not teach them, my cat do both of these as well. you should patient with this thing, i think you can bring them out after every meal or place them in a big cage and make sure they do their business before you tranfer them out.
my cat would get crazy when another male cat would come in the back yard.my vet gave me spray called fela way.its costly but it calmed him down alot,,, something in the house is getting to them,,,,,new carpet?
It seems your cats are having territorial issues. Perhaps you got one cat before the other one? Are they both males or both females? b/c it can lead to insecurity betweent the cats and they feel that they have to mark territory now. Seems like the case to me. Sorry I can't say anymore than that. Hope it was sorta helpful though.
Is this new behavior? Did they use litter boxes before? Then it could be urinary problems or stress if one of the cats is new. Or if one has started chasing or stalking the other one. You might then try separating them for awhile but also have the cats checked by a vet for urinary infections or blockage which is very serious. This can be painful and they then associate the litter box with the pain.
If no physical problems and they get along well, Try using a product called Cat Attract- it will often get cats using a litter box when they are not doing it instinctively.
