Laminate flooring in half bath and laundry room?

My husband is insistent on putting wood laminate flooring in the half bathroom downstairs (sink and toilet) and the laundry room. Is this a good idea? If so, why? If not, why not?Laminate flooring in half bath and laundry room?
As with any flooring water can be a problem. Just some more than others. But with proper care (as with any flooring), a laminate can last a long time.Now just don t get the 99 cent laminate. You won t have that many s/f to make it a big financial difference..


Look at a laminate that will carry a warranty, then you ll know you ll be getting a better quality laminate.. They will wear longer and be easier to maintain.


Just use common sense and use a boot pan and rugs if the laundry happens to come off the garage. This to keep water off the floor.

Hardwood is affected by changes in humidity and is not recommended for bathrooms, kitchens, or below grade. Many laminate floors are water-resistant, but you should check the warranty to be sure what is and is not covered.
i would never put it there.every time you have just a little water it starts to puff out.it can be a mess. we learned the hardway. like then thousand dollars worth of flooring hard way.
